Hornby trustees oppose proposed evening ferry cuts
The Local Trust Committee asked its chair to submit a response opposing the province’s plan to end Hornby’s once-a-week mid-to-late evening sailings.

The Hornby Island Local Trust Committee asked its chair to tell the province not to eliminate the island’s once-a-week mid-to-late evening sailings, and authorized up to $200 for a flyer about the proposed ferry schedule changes and public engagement process.[1]
Trustees also directed the chair to submit the committee’s response to the 2013 Coastal Ferries Engagement process, including a document on proposed Route 22 service reductions and the committee’s recommendation opposing the change.[1]
The committee agreed to post the flyer and its submission on the Hornby Island page of the Islands Trust website.[1]
The minutes say submissions for the engagement process were due December 20, 2013.[1]
