Hornby trustees back Four Corners safety and infrastructure letter
The Local Trust Committee voted to support the Hornby Village Centre Working Group as it seeks improvements at the village core intersection.

The Hornby Island Local Trust Committee will write a letter supporting the Hornby Village Centre Working Group’s efforts to improve safety and infrastructure at the four corners of the village core. The motion carried at the November 1, 2024 meeting.[1]
The working group told the committee that traffic and pedestrian congestion at the intersection had raised safety concerns. It is exploring transportation options including a bus system and bicycle travel, and is seeking to work with the Comox Valley Regional District on possible funding through the BC Active Transportation and Infrastructure Program.[1]
The committee also approved first, second and third readings, as amended, of Hornby Island Housing Agreement Bylaw No. 178, 2024, and forwarded it to the Islands Trust Executive Committee for approval.[1]
