Hornby trustees approve OCP review business case

The Hornby Island Local Trust Committee endorsed the business case for its Official Community Plan review and requested that staff clarify the roles of the consultant, staff and committee. [1]
The committee also requested that the issue of capacity funding for First Nations for Islands Trust referrals be placed on the next Trust Council agenda. [1]
Trustee Alex Allen said the review would begin in April 2022, last about a year and include public consultation. [1]
The Advisory Planning Commission presented recommended language changes concerning First Nations in the Official Community Plan. The committee minutes say the APC considered the recommendations mainly more inclusive rather than substantial. [1]
The committee received a report that the APC had moved on to housing and short-term vacation rentals, with recommendations to be finalized in March 2022. [1]
