Hornby trustees approve 26-unit affordable housing permit
The Local Trust Committee also approved a juice-bar permit, development variances and projects for Fords Cove and Four Corners.

The Hornby Island Local Trust Committee approved a development permit for 26 units of affordable housing at 5040 Central Road. [1]
Trustees also approved a Temporary Use Permit for a seasonal juice bar and outdoor vendor tables for three years, with 20 vehicle parking spaces required on site. [1]
The committee approved development variance permits for existing structures at 6845 Anderson Drive and 975 Mount Road. [1]
Trustees replaced the Fords Cove Consultation Project with a Fords Cove Neighborhood and Transportation Plan Project, added a Four Corners Neighborhood Plan Project to its Projects List and Top Priorities List, and requested a staff letter to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure about safety and transportation concerns near Fords Cove. The committee also requested a report on allowing chickens but not roosters in all zones, adopted the Islands Trust Model Strategy for Antenna Systems, and endorsed a request for $15,000 for consultants to draft bylaws for the Hornby Island Official Community Plan amendment review. [1]
