The Hornby Island Local Trust Committee approved second reading of Bylaw No. 155, which addresses the omission of a vacation-home-rental amendment and corrects a section number in the Hornby Island Land Use Bylaw. [1]
The committee also voted to waive the public hearing because it determined the bylaw was consistent with the Hornby Island Official Community Plan, and asked staff to provide the public with information about the rationale for the bylaw during the notification process. [1]
The committee approved a development variance permit for the Hornby Island Co-op Association, reducing front and exterior side lot-line setbacks from 6.0 metres to 0.0 metres for buildings and structures shown in the proposed site plan. [1]
The variance and development permit were made subject to obtaining any necessary setback and encroachment permits from the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure before issuance. [1]
The committee also amended its Vacation Home Rental Policy Review Project Charter Work Plan Overview to include agency consultation, and directed staff to follow up with Telus and Industry Canada about the proposed Telus tower. [1]
