Hornby LTC backs ALR application for two proposed farm lots

The Hornby Island Local Trust Committee will forward application HO-ALR-2018.2 to the Agricultural Land Commission and recommend approval of a proposal to reconfigure three Agricultural Land Reserve properties into two. [1]
The committee’s recommendation cited community support for initiatives to establish active, productive farms and said the consolidation of land was required for the proposal to succeed. [1]
The application includes a new 10 metre wide road dedication along the southern property lines to address an anticipated subdivision condition from the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure. [1]
Four members of the public, including a neighbour, voiced support for the application, saying the proposal would result in two viable farms. [1]
