Hornby committee sets housing review after OCP and bylaw work
The committee added a community process on residential density to its projects list, to follow completion of the Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaw review.

The Hornby Island Local Trust Committee added a community process to review residential density and community housing needs to its projects list, to begin after the Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaw review is complete.[1]
The committee also set the OCP and LUB review as its top priority, placed a review of the Advisory Planning Commission Bylaw second and riparian mapping and implementation third, and removed the Vacation Home Rentals Regulations Review from its top priorities.[1]
During the town hall, residents raised questions about housing, detached secondary units and enforcement of the vacation rental bylaw; Trustee Law said a complaint would be needed to trigger an investigation and that complaints about non-permitted buildings would be prioritized.[1]
The minutes record that a petition on full-time affordable housing contained 310 signatures and requested a response by the end of the month; it asked the committee to adopt a moratorium on investigating and enforcing non-conforming situations providing housing for community residents, subject to stated exceptions.[1]
