Staff will prepare draft amendments to proposed Bylaw No. 177, after the Hornby Island Local Trust Committee voted to act on public correspondence about the PU(a) site-specific zone. The motion passed at the committee’s May 1 meeting.[1]

The committee’s motion directs staff to prepare amendments consistent with suggested revisions in correspondence dated April 17, 2025, and March 25, 2026. The minutes record the motion as carried.[1]

During public participation, speakers raised the PU(a) zone and other matters related to the Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaw review. One speaker asked trustees to address the zone correction and short-term rental provisions; another supported the short-term rental cap and said they had not seen facts showing rental owners use more water than other residents.[1]
