The Hornby Island Local Trust Committee asked its Advisory Planning Commission to review the “draft for comment” of the Official Community Plan and identify significant concerns, questions or clarity issues before public review.[1]

The committee also asked its chair, after consulting staff, to respond to a letter from K’omoks First Nation expressing the committee’s interest in meeting with the First Nation Council about issues raised in the letter, particularly the Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaw review.[1]

The minutes say the committee considered reviewing the Official Community Plan, Land Use Bylaw and bylaw-enforcement adjudication system at the same time, and discussed limiting changes to density provisions to targeted topics.[1]

The committee agreed to set aside consideration of possible Development Permit Areas from the review because of time constraints, with the issue potentially placed on the projects list.[1]

The committee also discussed public communication during the review, including timelines, ways to provide input and how submissions become public documents.[1]
