The draft would set penalties for listed Land Use Bylaw offences and allow people disputing a notice to use an adjudication process, according to the meeting minutes.[1] The committee agreed to refer the proposal to the Advisory Planning Commission and have staff provide information about the draft and its context.[1]
Before the referral, Trustee Hunt questioned the meaning of “record” in one section, and the committee asked staff to clarify that section and add “Violation” to the bylaw title.[1]
The minutes say the proposed bylaw would not create new offences; Bylaw Enforcement Coordinator Miles Drew described the proposed system as a flexible, low-cost method designed to increase compliance.[1]
