The proposed vacation-rental bylaw would permit rentals from May to September, and trustees said an enforcement policy would be presented later in the process.[1]
At the Aug. 7 special meeting, Trustee Tony Law said word-of-mouth rentals or rentals to friends would be considered residential use, while advertising or using third-party managers would be considered commercial use; the Bylaw Enforcement Officer would be guided by the enforcement policy.[1]
Chair Fred Hunt said there would be no formal public hearing or community information meeting on the enforcement policy, but residents could speak at Local Trust Committee town hall sessions or send input by email or letter.[1]
Law said the proposed bylaw provides for a future review, and that a communication program would follow adoption to explain the changes, policy and enforcement approach.[1]
